C.S. Wo & Sons plans to expand its collection of furniture stores to Kapolei.
The company announced that it has bought two acres for a store within a 40-acre planned senior-living community called Leihano.
C.S. Wo plans to develop a 55,000-square-foot store to feature three of its store brands — HomeWorld, Ashley Furniture and SlumberWorld. The company operates seven stores in Hawaii and one in California.
An estimated opening timetable was not provided.
Commercial real estate broker Colliers International announced the deal Wednesday. A purchase price for the land was not disclosed.
C.S. Wo bought the property from an affiliate of Kisco Senior Living, a senior-housing developer based in California. Kisco announced in February that it was moving ahead on long-delayed plans for Leihano with 84 rental apartments for seniors called ‘Ilima at Leihano on a 7-acre portion of the 40-acre site close to the commercial core of Kapolei.
Kisco envisions a variety of other development on the balance of the property, including a hotel, retail, restaurants, medical services and more housing, including additional senior rentals and homes for residents without age restrictions.
Colliers said Kisco is preparing to break ground on ‘Ilima at Leihano early next year.
